Dear Parents, March was a very busy month with Conferences and busy fun units. We want to thank you for your great participation in Conferences, with nearly 100% turn out! We feel it is an important aspect of working together in the best interest of your children. It is a very busy time for us but well worth it. We especially want to thank those of you who volunteered to come in and help during Conferences. It was fun for the children and the teachers feel we couldn't have done it without you, so a great big thank you to each one who helped out, including Grandparents! You were great! We’d like to thank each one personally and by name but we are afraid we might omit someone, but you know who you are, so a heart felt Thank You to those who helped! Last month we sent comment sheets home asking for your ideas, concerns and comments to help us better serve you. These may still be dropped in the comment sheet drop box in the classroom by the tuition box. WE APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT.
“Let’s Bee Silly” April 2nd – 6th This first week back after a Blessed Easter/Spring Break, we will enjoy some silly times together with silly songs, silly books, activities and snacks. This unit is sure to tickle the children’s developing sense of humor. The children are invited to dress silly any day this week. Silly hats, silly socks, silly hair, and backwards clothes are welcomed attire.
“Farm Life” April 9th – 20th As the Earth is waking up to Spring and baby animals are being birthed and the ground is thawing, our neighboring farms are gearing up for the busy season ahead. During this unit, we will talk about the different kinds of farms that supply food and products to our communities. We will discuss some of the valuable work farmers do and their equipment. We will learn about some of the crops and animals found on farms.
“Transportation” April 23rd - 27th This fun unit will touch on some of the ways we move from place to place by land, sea and air. We will enhance the unit with fun books, music and projects.
FALL REGISTRATION After a successful Open House and registration, we have some limited morning openings still available. So please continue to tell your friends and neighbors about Pumpkin Patch and have them give us a call. If there is enough interest we are open to offering afternoon sessions. Thank you!
WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD April 16th - 20th The Minnesota and National Association for the Education of Young Children have designated this week the Week of the Young Child. The Week of The Young Child is about celebrating Early Learning, Young Children, their teachers and families. You may visit NAEYC's website http://www.naeyc.org/woyc this week or anytime for ideas and activities to do with your children. Take time this week to celebrate and encourage the special little people in your life. It’s also a good time to recognize and thank those special Day Care Providers who play such a big role in your child’s life. Studies have shown that the early years are the most important in a child's development. Pumpkin Patch is privileged to assist in building good futures for all our special little ones by helping them to enjoy their first school experience and feel loved as they learn. We will be making some posters to display at the Library and The Community Center to call attention to the Week of the Young Child.
Scripture Verse and Character Quality: April’s character quality is “Bee Helpful”. We will be talking about how to be helpful to one another. “Serve one another in love.” Galatians 5:13b Our April Scripture verse will be Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father, which is in heaven.”
“Birthday Bags” A big, warm Thank You to all of you who participated in our “Birthday Bag” drive for the Food Shelf. It was obvious this was a fun project for some of our families as the bags were coordinated and included fun and cute favors as well as cake mixes, frosting, candles, plates and napkins, etc. Thank you for each item donated. There will be some Happy Birthday celebrations thanks to your generosity.
